How to work with brass findings:
Brass findings allow you to add detail without adding extra work. You can foil it along with the background piece that you are adding the finding too or tack solder to the top of the foiled piece. You can either leave the finding  brass, or tin it with solder so it will blend in with the rest of your stained glass piece. If you decide to tin the findings, use gloves to handle the brass. It will get extremely hot while adding solder. Fine Steel Wool can be used to prep the brass to make the soldering process go easier. Be sure to flux the finding and use the thinnest possible coating of solder. Because these findings are brass, they may tarnish but can be easily cleaned up with fine steel wool.
