Description
DiamondCrete Mixing Instructions
A. Approximately 2 fluid once of room temperature water per 1 cup of DiamondCrete
B. Pour approximately 3/4 of the pre-measured water into a mixing container. Hold back some to the water to be added during the mixing. It may not be necessary to add all of the water as lighter pigments need less water.
C. Gently add part of the pre-measured DiamondCrete to the water mixing container and mix vigorously. Continue add the DiamondCrete to the mixture until all of the pre-measured DiamondCrete is in the mixing container. Add the remaining water a few drops at a time, continue stirring vigorously until a thick milkshake consistently is obtained. Too much water makes the mixture thin and may weaken the stone and cause cracking.
D. Mix with electric mixer or paint mixer attachment to your drill for approximately 2 minutes before pouring in the mold. DiamondCrete will thin out during the process.
E. Gently pour DiamondCrete into the prepared mold and tap lightly on the edge of the mold for 30 seconds to remove any trapped air bubbles.
F. DiamondCrete will set up in approximately 1 hour. Time may vary due to your climate and the temperature of your water. Do not move the mold during the setup time. Remove your stone from the mold when the DiamondCrete has hardened.
G. Allow 28 days for the stone to fully cure indoors at room temperature (70 degrees in drier climate). Elevate the stone with pencils to allow air circulation. After the stone is cured, it can be sealed with a sealer on top, bottom, and sides. Check annually to see if the stone needs to be resealed.
*Your mold should be treated with a release agent, like WD40 or thin Vaseline, so that your stone will come out of the mold easily when it has set up.
