How to work with brass filigree:
Brass filigrees allow you to add detail without adding extra work. You can foil it along with the background piece that you are adding the filigree too or tack solder to the top of the foiled piece. You can either leave the filigree brass, or tin it with solder so it will blend in with the rest of your stained glass piece. If you decide to tin the filigree use gloves to handle the brass. It will get extremely hot while adding solder. Fine Steel Wool can be used to prep the brass to make the soldering process go easier. Be sure to flux the filigree and use the thinnest possible coating of solder.

Perfect. Exactly what I needed.

Small brass stamped eagles were exactly what I was looking for – was attempting to find a match for the same design purchased by my dad nearly 60 years ago, and these were a perfect match!
